With over 200 years combined experience in healthcare, real estate, construction, business operations, philanthropy & community support, a collaborative vision was formed to create a safe, relaxed, and fun place for seniors to begin their next journey. Our vision is clear, this is not a dreary, institutional place, but instead a vibrant community that gives you a reason to get up and going every day. We want to celebrate you, your life, and where you’ve been while creating new memories together as you join this wonderful community. The Landing Senior Living is locally owned and operated, giving our management team and investors the opportunity to be involved with every aspect of this wonderful community.

Christin Smith


TSM-Regional Director of Marketing

With more than twelve years of experience in the senior living industry, Christin brings extensive knowledge of the full continuum of care, including skilled nursing, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Executive Director, where she gained valuable insight into operations, team development, and resident care. A graduate of Georgia College and State University, Christin earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Community Health and Human Services in 2012. Her education, combined with her leadership experience and passion for service, allows her to guide families with compassion and expertise. As Regional Director of Marketing and Admissions, Christin is dedicated to providing families with the resources, support, and direction they need when navigating senior living options. She lives in Athens with her husband, daughter, and two dogs, and enjoys cooking and traveling with her family.

Lisa Foster


Executive Director/LPN-Bogart


Lisa Foster was born and raised in Athens, GA and has been a nurse for over 20 years. She has over 18 years of geriatric nursing experience where she completed extensive dementia education and training. Lisa prides herself on being a great listener as well as team player. Lisa has a servant heart for resident care and is passionate about the opportunity to care for and learn from residents in the later years of their life. She has a wonderful husband of 28 years along with two beautiful daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending free time with her family and traveling to see new things/places with her husband. 

Vickie Baxter


Executive Director-Winder

Vickie Baxter, a native of Ohio and Texas, has called Georgia home since 1986. She brings more than 30 years of experience in customer service and public service, with a diverse professional background that includes roles as a legal secretary, real estate agent, and law enforcement officer. Vickie joined The Landing of Winder in 2022 and quickly became a valued leader, committed to creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents and their families. As Executive Director, she is dedicated to ensuring each resident’s experience is positive and enriching. Outside of her professional role, Vickie enjoys crafting, baking, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with her five grandchildren.

Julia Zarate, CMA


Wellness Coordinator-Bogart

With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, Julia has been dedicated to serving others since beginning her career in 1998. Her background includes extensive experience in senior care, assisted living, and healthcare leadership. Her passion for caring for people started at a young age after watching her grandmother lovingly care for her grandfather during his illness. Inspired by that experience, Julia began volunteering in nursing homes at 11 years old and quickly knew helping others would become her life’s work.  She is passionate about advocating for residents and ensuring they receive compassionate, dignified care, and believes the residents she serves quickly become like family to her. In addition to her work in senior living, Julia directs a nonprofit that supports terminally ill children and their families. Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time with her fiancé and cheering on her children at volleyball and baseball games.

Maria Gomez, CMA


Wellness Coordinator-Winder

Maria Gomez decided to become a CNA in 2017 due to the need to care for her grandmother. Her grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and the family wanted to provide the best possible care and learn all they could about her condition. Maria feels that working assisted living is a wonderful way to honor her grandmother.  In 2018 she obtained her (CMA) certified medication aide license and (MA) medical assistance certification. Maria loves working with families to support them and help care for their loved ones.  She a single mom of an 11-year-old boy and enjoys camping, hiking, and visiting waterfalls. She especially enjoys fishing and cooking what her son catches.

Stefani Mitchell


Director of Life Enrichment-Winder


Stefani Mitchell has worked as an Activity Director for several years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure services for SUNY Cortland in New York. She started working part-time in Assisted Living while attending college and found her true calling. Stefanie loves the outdoors and enjoys visits to the Western United States where she spent two years working in outdoor education in Montana and The Adirondacks. Stefani took some time off to raise her son, worked part-time as an activity assistant and recently relocated to Georgia. Stefani has joined The Landing of Winder full-time since her son began school. She is a resident of Auburn, GA and recently adopted a dog named Leo.

Jessica Dickie


Independent Living Coordinator -

Jessica brings over 20 years of experience in senior services to her role as Independent Living Coordinator. Since moving to Athens in 2014, she has been dedicated to creating engaging programs and personalized experiences that promote independence, connection, and resident satisfaction.

With a background in social services, therapy programs, and certification as a Medication Technician, Jessica takes a holistic approach to supporting residents and fostering a vibrant, fulfilling community.  Outside of work, Jessica is a proud mother and fiancée who enjoys following college football, MLB, and NBA, often sharing her enthusiasm with residents during community events.

Peggy Baker


Resident Relations Coordinator - The Landing Senior Living


Peggy Baker brings a heart for service and a wealth of experience to her role as Resident Relations Coordinator. A native of Colbert, Georgia, Peggy has spent her career supporting others across a wide range of care settings, including public safety, independent living communities, hospitals, hospice care, physicians’ offices, and as an EMT. This diverse background allows her to connect with residents and families with empathy, understanding, and confidence.  As a mom of one, Peggy values strong relationships and meaningful connections—qualities that shine through in her daily interactions with residents. She is passionate about ensuring every individual feels welcomed, heard, and supported, and she takes pride in helping residents feel truly at home in their community.  Outside of work, Peggy enjoys crafting, a creative outlet that reflects her thoughtful, hands-on approach to both life and resident engagement.

Culinary Team Director - Winder

Molly Butler has had a passion for the culinary arts for as long as she can remember.  Since graduating high school in 2017, she has built her career in the culinary field, bringing creativity, care, and flavor to every meal she serves.  During her time with The Landing Senior Living, Molly has deepened her knowledge of geriatric dietary needs and takes pride in creating delicious and well balanced meals that support resident health and happiness.  She believes the dining room is the heart of the community - a place where good food and good company come together.  Outside of work, Molly enjoys spending time with her two dogs, relaxing at the beach, and getting lost in a good book.
